Taking Five on Friday: Vince, our BROOKESbus Service Delivery Manager!

Did you know that Oxford Bus Company is one of Oxford’s largest employers with over 600 members of staff? Each Friday we ask an employee 5 questions to find out what it’s like to work here at OBC…

Staff member name: Vince Dallimore
Job title: BROOKESbus Service Delivery Manager
I’ve worked for Oxford Bus Company for… 5 years

1) So Vince, what do you do at Oxford Bus?
I run the day to day operations of our BROOKESbus service. BROOKESbuses are the blue double deckers that transport students from campus to campus, we also get a lot of non student passengers taking the service into town. I ensure the BROOKESbus service runs to schedule and liaise with the Transport Team over at Brookes University.

2) Which bus/coach service do you use the most?
If I’m heading into London I’ll get the X90 service from Oxford City Centre or Thornhill Park and Ride.

3) What is the one essential item you need when waiting at a bus stop?
I would recommend a timetable for the service you’re taking, these are available on our website or from our Travel Shops in town.

4) What is your favourite thing to do or best place to visit?
I like heading up to the Cardiff Millennium Stadium for the Speedway Grand Prix – it’s a great weekend!

5) What is the best thing about working at Oxford Bus Company?
Most definitely it’s the proud name that the company has built up over the years. Everyone knows us in Oxford and it’s great seeing so many people use the services that we provide. Working with Brookes University is also a pleasure, another great institution in Oxford!
