Getting to Oxford’s South Park Fireworks Display

Oxford’s Round Table Firework Display takes place on Saturday 8th November at South Park, Headington. The gates open at 1630, with the fireworks starting at 1845.

The area around South Park will be very busy before and after the event and it is recommended you use the bus to get to South Park. Oxford Bus Company operates a number of services that can get you to and from the display safely.

Bus Stop Closures: Please note that city4 services will be unable to serve bus stops on Morrell Avenue or Warneford Lane as they will be closed from 17:00 and 21:00.

Getting to Oxford’s South Park Fireworks Display: 

From Oxford Park & Ride sites

If you are travelling to the event from outside Oxford, Park & Ride is the easiest and most convenient way to get to South Park. Our 400 service from Thornhill (OX3 8DP) and Seacourt (OX2 0HP) Park & Ride sites and will drop you off outside South Park.

Our cityX13 service from Redbridge Park & Ride (OX1 4XG) operates through the city and will also drop you off at the event.

From Oxford Rail Station

If you are travelling in to Oxford using the train, we operate services from Oxford Rail Station that will drop you off outside South Park. Use the city13 from the station forecourt.

From Abingdon

cityX13 services from Abingdon Town Centre operate through the city, dropping off and picking up from outside South Park.

From Barton and Risinghurst

city8/9 services operate frequently from Barton and Risinghurst and drop off outside South Park.

From Blackbird Leys and Cowley

city5 services operate regularly from Blackbird Leys and Cowley. Get off the bus at the James Street stop (near Tesco) and walk through Union Street to South Park (3 minute walk).

From Botley, Cumnor and Wootton

city4 services operate from Botley, Cumnor and Wootton, through the city to drop you off outside South Park.

From Kennington and Radley

city35 services from Kennington and Radley operate in to Oxford City Centre, allowing you to connect with city13/X13 buses (from St Aldates).

From Kidlington and Summertown

If you are travelling from Kidlington and Summertown, you can use our city2 services in to Oxford City Centre and connect with city13/X13 buses (from St Aldates and Queens Lane).

Our cityzone day ticket costs just £4, offering great value for connecting passengers.

From Rose Hill 

city3 services operate regularly from Rose Hill. Get off the bus at the James Street stop (Outside Iffley Road running tracking) and walk through James Street and Union Street to South Park (8 minute walk).

From Wheatley

BROOKESbus U1 services from Wheatley drop off and pick up outside South Park.
From Wolvercote and Woodstock Road

city6 services operate from Wolvercote and Woodstock Road to Oxford City Centre, allowing you to connect with thecity13/X13 service (from St Aldates and Queens Lane).
